About Far & Wide

Far & Wide was founded in 2020 by Leila Karimi, a travel writer and photographer who'd spent the previous decade collecting passport stamps and increasingly frustrated by travel content that was either too sanitized or too vague to be actually useful.

We write for real travelers: people who want honest budget breakdowns, genuine assessments of whether something is worth the hype, and the kind of on-the-ground detail you only get from someone who actually stayed in those hostels, took those night buses, and ate at those unmarked street stalls.

Our Writers

Leila Karimi — Full-time traveler since 2019. Leila has lived out of a single carry-on bag for five years across Southeast Asia, South America, and East Africa. She specializes in budget travel, solo female travel, and finding the most interesting bus routes on earth.

Tom Andersen — Based between Copenhagen and wherever he's currently eating his way through. Tom covers Europe with an obsessive attention to lesser-known regions, local food culture, and sustainable travel practices.
