Hidden Gems of the Amalfi Coast: A Local's Guide

The Amalfi Coast can feel impossible in peak season: buses packed, viewpoints crowded, and every famous staircase occupied by someone trying to take the same photo.

The quieter version starts early and stays small. Base yourself away from the busiest towns, take ferries when the sea is calm, and build days around one village instead of three.

Look for local walking routes, small coves reached by stairs, and restaurants a few streets above the waterfront. The coast rewards anyone willing to climb away from the postcard angle.

If you can, visit in shoulder season. May and October keep the color and the light while giving the villages enough space to feel lived in again.
